About
Why I started MadProjX
AI is being sold to small businesses the same way every other tech trend has been sold — with enthusiasm, minimal context, and almost no mention of what could go wrong. I've spent two decades in cybersecurity watching exactly that pattern play out. I started MadProjX to be a different kind of voice in the room.
I spent 20+ years in cybersecurity — running assessments, responding to incidents, and helping organizations understand where they were exposed. Over time, I noticed something: the businesses that got hurt the worst weren't the ones that ignored security. They were the ones that moved fast without understanding what they were building.
When AI tools started showing up in the workplace, I saw the same pattern start over. Vendors promising transformation. Business owners adopting tools because a competitor did. Employees using ChatGPT with customer data because nobody told them not to.
Small businesses don't have a CISO. They don't have an IT department. They definitely don't have a dedicated AI team. They have you — and maybe a few trusted advisors. And most of the AI advice being aimed at them is coming from people who've never run a 15-person service business, never worried about a HIPAA violation, and aren't thinking about what happens when something goes wrong.
MadProjX is my answer to that gap. Security-first AI consulting, built for businesses that operate in the real world — with real constraints, real data, and real consequences if they get it wrong.

What we don't do
Being clear about what's outside our scope is part of how we protect clients. If what you need isn't on this list, we'll say so upfront.
Custom AI model training
We work with existing AI tools and platforms. We don't build or train custom machine learning models.
Selling AI software
We don't sell products and we don't take commissions from vendors. Our recommendations are not influenced by who pays us.
Enterprise rollouts
We focus on small businesses (under 100 employees). Large-scale deployments for enterprise clients are outside our scope.
Hourly billing
All engagements are scoped and priced before work begins. No open-ended hourly contracts.
